Happy New Year!!!!

Hello all, I can't believe another year has passed. Where has the time gone, there were more books I wanted to read!! So since today is my day to review, I am going to switch things up a bit. Here is a review of my reading year:

(This year is brought to you by Goodreads, because there is NO way I would be able to remember all of this!)

2013 started with a catch-up of Maya Banks KGI Series but my first review for 2013 was a new to me author T. A. Webb and his fabulous Second Chances story. It was also the first Ultimate Indulgence read for the year:

http://guiltyindulgencebookclub.blogspot.com/2013/01/second-chances-by-ta-webb.html

You would think with the amount of reading that I do that new to me authors would start to become scarce, but that is not the case. Here are the links to my reviews of a few new to me authors:

The wonderful SJD Peterson:

http://guiltyindulgencebookclub.blogspot.com/2013/02/plan-b-by-sjd-peterson.html

J.P. Barnaby is fabulous but don't forget the tissues because her books are powerful:

http://guiltyindulgencebookclub.blogspot.com/2013/03/aaron-by-jp-barnaby.html

RJ Scott writes sexy men with a strong sense of family:

http://guiltyindulgencebookclub.blogspot.com/2013/11/texas-rjscottauthor-review.html

Cardeno C has definitely been added to my auto buy list:

http://guiltyindulgencebookclub.blogspot.com/2013/11/texas-rjscottauthor-review.html

As well as Silvia Violet:

http://guiltyindulgencebookclub.blogspot.com/2013/11/unexpected-rescue-silviaviolet-review.html

Eve Langlais is so freakin' funny:

http://guiltyindulgencebookclub.blogspot.com/2013/10/a-demon-and-his-witch-evelanglais-review.html

But I can never forget my go to authors:

Andrew Grey makes me believe in love:

http://guiltyindulgencebookclub.blogspot.com/2013/10/biochemistry-byandrewgreybooks-review.html

If anyone could make me hope for a visit from the Grim Reaper it would be Darynda Jones...but only if Charley brings Reyes with  her:

http://guiltyindulgencebookclub.blogspot.com/2013/09/fifth-grave-past-light-by-darynda-jones.html

I once again worshipped at the alter of Shelly Laurenston:

http://guiltyindulgencebookclub.blogspot.com/2013/05/wolf-with-benefits-by-shelly-laurenston.html

And I have re-discovered Christine Feehan and her Carpathians:

As the year comes to an end I am finishing-up with another catch-up. I am ending my year with Mark Antonious Richfield and the D-lish men of GA Hauser's Action! series. (jealous?)

With 215 books read this year I obviously couldn't list them all but hopefully I have mentioned someone that you haven't read or reminded you of a series that YOU need to play catch-up with.

All of us here at Guilty Indulgence wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

May your 2014 be filled with LOTS and LOTS of books!

Dragos Take A Holiday #REVIEW

Dragos Takes a Holiday (Elder Races #6.5) by Thea Harrison is triangular perfection... Pia, the Peanut and Pirates. What a fun holiday novella!

The Bermuda Triangle. Pirates. The Peanut. What could possibly go wrong?

Dragos Cuelebre needs a vacation. So does Pia, his mate. When the First Family of the Wyr head to Bermuda for some much needed R&R, it's no ordinary undertaking - and no ordinary weekend in the sun. Between hunting for ancient treasure buried beneath the waves and keeping track of their son, Liam—a.k.a. Peanut, whose Wyr abilities are manifesting far ahead of schedule—it’s a miracle that Pia and Dragos can get any time together.

They're determined to make the most of each moment, no matter who tries to get in their way.

And did we mention pirates?

For fans of DRAGON BOUND and LORD’S FALL, passion, playfulness, and adventure abound in this Elder Races novella.

REVIEW: This novella will be adored by fans of the Elder Races series. It's fast-paced and offers a peek into Dragos and Pia's life together with Liam. Everything you love about Thea's other books - love, adventure and intrigue - are just pint sized in this shorter story but no less fabulous. This is a MUST READ!

Coloring Outside the Lines by @DianaCastilleja #REVIEW @dreamspinners

Spend the afternoon Coloring Outside the Lines!

Coloring Outside the Lines, Diana DeRicci, Dreamspinner Press
Different Paths to Love #2
Photographer Ralph Haraldsson’s birthday celebration starts to turn disastrous when he runs into his ex, and it seems to be headed downhill from there. Julian Franzese, an off-duty cop with a hotter-than-sin body, gets co-opted to take Ralph home when the friends he came with run into problems. Even though they’ve never met before, Julian defends Ralph’s wounded pride from his ex and his body from a creepy patron. The relationship starts out cool, but Ralph soon warms up to the persistent Texan, and as they get to know each other, the temperature continues to rise. But Ralph has a couple of secrets: an old injury that could make a difference, and the room he keeps locked up behind his studio—a room where only those who play by the rules can enter. What might Julian think if Ralph shows him all his hidden colors?

REVIEW:
This is a sweet addition to the Different Paths series. It has everything you need in a romance, humor, attraction, and love. I liked that Julian wanted Ralph as soon as he saw him but Ralph made him work for it. And who doesn't love a knight in shining armor? While there isn't a lot of conflict in this story it did deal with some very real and frightening things. I loved the way that Julian just "got" Ralph.

There are several different ways the author could take this series next, but I for one hope we get to see Shrek again.

If you like your quickies angst light and love heavy then be sure to pick up Coloring Outside the Lines.

Fury by @LaurannDohner #REVIEW

Fury, Laurann Dohner, Ellora's Cave
New Species #1
Ellie is horrified to discover the pharmaceutical company she works for is doing illegal experiments. Company scientists have spliced human and animal DNA, creating exotic new species. One such “experiment” captures her heart and she’ll do anything to save him—even if he hates her for it.

Fury has never known compassion or love. He’s spent his life in a cell, chained and abused by humans. The one woman he allowed himself to trust betrayed him. Now he’s free and set on vengeance. He vows to end her life but when she’s finally in his grasp, harming her is the last thing he wants to do to the sexy little human.

Fury can’t resist Ellie—the touch of her hands, her mouth on his skin, her body wrapped around his. He’s obsessed with the scent of his woman. And Ellie wants Fury—always has. She craves his big, powerful body and wants to heal his desolate heart.

But loving Fury is one thing…taming him is another.

REVIEW:
OH yes  - yes –yes!  I found a new series all by myself.  I am in love with this series.  I have been working like a dog and I haven’t had time to read or write any reviews but that is all over.  I decided to start my New Year’s Resolution early and that is time for me.  Time to read and time to write!  There is nothing better than taking time and scanning around to find a new book or in my case a new series to read over the holiday.  I have three weeks off from the craziest year ever and I am vowing never to let ME time be the first to go when things get busy.  Thanks to all my friends that still call me “friend” even though I have been absent for all this time.

Now that I am done with all the sappy stuff on to the great stuff! Oh to get lost in a book – If you liked Lora Leah’s Breed Series then you will want to read this. I just finished Fury’s book and wanted to do a quick “Hell Yes Read This” before I go on to Book Two “Slade”. I hate to say this but I actually enjoyed this more.  Everyone that knows me knows that I love the Breed Series and I loved it so much that I couldn’t really read anything similar because it couldn’t compare. I would start the book and throw it down or delete it and move on.  This book held my attention the whole way through.  Yes – both series are genetically alter – both are held in captive and abused but this series isn’t about the “Mate For Life Because of Our Genetic Make Up”! Fury and Ellie are attracted to each other from the start. They aren’t destined to be together and so it isn’t the same old same old story. The “New Species” aren’t hiding from the world – they are trying to make their way and assimilate. Laurann has it right because her series is about the gift of falling in love.  No matter who you are – no matter what happen to you in the past – it is never too late to have the one person in your life that makes it all worth it.  A problem, as Ellie puts it in the book, is in most cases a “Communication Breakdown”.
I highly recommend this series! There is a little bit of editing issues but nothing that drives you crazy.  I am sure that I will read every last one.  I have another book that I got at the same time.  So… Slade is going to have to wait a couple days but he will be traveling with me in a couple days will I visit friends.  Laurann Dohner, thank you so much for this series.  It is the first book of yours that I have ever read but you are now on my favorite authors list.  Merry Christmas to you and everyone and happy reading!!!!!!!!!!  Fury gets a 4 ½ chocolate dipped strawberries.

Fiesty Friday

This series continues to be great to read. I find it crazy how different each book has been yet tied together. Occasional characters from previous books pop up but other than that that's about it. They are a major roll. The common link seems to be the portal between Atlantis and the human world. This book was slow to grab my interest at first (possibly my own fault. Sometimes I can't focus LOL) but so much stuff happened in the home stretch. I don't think I've ever read a book who's happily ever after held out that long. Plus the added bonus of a second happily ever after that got thrown in the mix. Not to mention a centuries old rivalry that got solved in a matter of minutes. It was more like a sort peace chat with a side of sword fight.
All and all it was a good read. Everything just happened all at once with a great lead into book 4.
Which I am looking forward too:)

The Nymph King by Gena Showalter

Enter a world of dark seduction and powerful magic . . . enter Atlantis . . .
Females young and old, beautiful and plain crave Valerian’s touch. None can resist his blatant sensuality and potent allure . . . until he steals Shaye Holling from a Florida beach and holds her prisoner in his underwater kingdom.
The cynical Shaye wants nothing to do with the mighty warlord, but she’s inexplicably drawn to him. For underneath the warrior’s arrogant beauty lies a complex and powerful man. A man whose caress is like fire . . .
Now Valerian must fight for the privilege of claiming her as his own. Because there’s one thing Shaye doesn’t know . . .

I give this book 4 chocolate dipped strawberries and scuba gear for Shaye and Brenna.

#REVIEW: My Sweetest Escape by Chelsea Cameron @chel_c_cam

My Sweetest Escape (My Favorite Mistake #2) by Chelsea M. Cameron is a sweet story of how everything has a way of coming full circle.

The past will always find you.

Jos Archer was the girl with the perfect life; until the night it all came crashing down around her. Now, nine months later, she still hasn't begun to pick up the pieces. Even transferring to a new college and living under the watchful eye of her older sister, Renee, isn't enough to help her feel normal again.

And then she meets Dusty Sharp. For reasons Jos can't begin to fathom, the newly reformed campus bad boy seems determined to draw her out of her shell. And if she's not careful, his knowing green eyes and wicked smile will make her feel things she's no longer sure she deserves.

But even as Dusty coaxes Jos to open up about the past, he's hiding secrets of his own. Secrets about the night her old life fell apart. When the truth is finally revealed, will it bring them closer together;or tear them apart for good?

REVIEW
Such a sweet, tender book with just a bit of quirk and humor to be a fun read. While I enjoyed the first book better, Jos and Dusty's story was compelling and their journey to one another was beautiful.

Good news! Readers get the chance to visit with old friends as the setting of My Sweetest Escape is the house where the characters from My Favorite Mistake moved into. The characters play an integral role in this book as well.

Jos and Dusty are good people with broken pasts that slowly heal as they connect. They basic premise isn't new but the author wrote it well. There are enough secrets, enough humor, enough drama to create a story readers will enjoy.

RATING
3 Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries

Christmas Delights Anthology, Various Authors,  Love Lane Books

Love Lane Books is proud to present you with a collection of free Christmas stories to celebrate this special time of year.
With writing from a selection of new authors and some from authors you may already know.

REVIEW:

The Book includes the following stories:-

RJ Scott - Deefur and the Great Mistletoe Incident - Wonderful addition to the original story. I for one wouldn't mind reading more about Cameron and Jason...and of course Emma and Deefur!

Amber Kell - Christmas Tree Magic -
For fans of the Moon Pack series this is a sweet peek at how some of them will be spending holidays. I think the section with Farro and Kylen was my favorite. Kylen's take on Santa was hilarious!

Meredith Russell - Spiced Apple and Cinnamon - Keegan doesn't like waking alone, but his fireman partner has drawn the early Christmas shift. When Alex finally gets home Christmas can really begin.

Diane Adams - Christmas Lightning - As a transplanted to Virginia form California girl I have experienced snow now but not lightning snow...now I am going to be looking for it!

Kay Berrisford - Gifts from the Tree
- Kay Berrisford is a new author for me but I loved this story and thought the mythology was unique and the story intriguing!

Nicole Dennis - Christmas Promise - This wonderful story is the last in the book but so worth reading. It made me cry the hardest and left me feeling hopeful!

Caitlin Ricci - A Jaguar for Christmas - RAWR sexy nekkid man who can turn into a jaguar, and a bah humbug photog who needs some Christmas spirit!

John Wiley - Once you go Black Friday - A Black Friday pro and a Virgin experience the night together but walk away with more than great deals.

SA Garcia - Paid with a Full Moon - This was totally my "lampshade" story! LOL

A.T. Weaver - Josh's Christmas Angel - An emotional story about the strength it takes to open your heart a second time.

Valynda King - Christmas in Hawaii - Another new to me author whose story dealt with things we don't usually find in romance stories. I thought is was sweet and thoughtful and I would like to read more about how Coolidge deals with River's issues.

Christopher John - Two for Hooking - Julia Roberts eat your heart out! From a hook up gone terribly wrong to a Christmas Miracle! My new favorite hooker story. I would love to see a follow up to this on how well the coming out goes.

Francis Gideon - Mistletoe and YouTube - Matt and Aiden come up with a unique way to kiss under the mistletoe!

Allan Jay - Christmas Angel - Shaun just needed to open his eyes and see the angel in front of him!

Aisling Mancy - Joyeux Noel
 - I am loving all of the second chances stories and this was another winner.

Gary Hendrickson - Our Best Christmas
 - Sweet story and the epilogue was the best part!

Hollis Shiloh - The Christmas Mansion
 - This is a story that would have benefited with more. The character's were interesting just left a lot unexplained.

Tom Alexander - Ivy Park
 - Beautifully poignant story about a broken man and his struggle to find hope.

AJ Henderson - Christmas Reunion
 - Oh this one was just too short. I wanted to read more about Eric and Dillon....we were just getting to the good stuff!!!

Abigail Winters - Love Delayed
 - The ultimate second chances story, and another one that I was wishing for more.

JC Wallace - Waiting for Snow -
A beautiful story of strength and survival!

This was a fun anthology with some very unique, intriguing stories. As with any anthology some stories were stronger than others and editing mistakes stand out more in these shorter stories. I did find some beautiful writing and some authors that I will seek out more from.

RATING: 4 Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries.  This book was given to us by Love Lane Books. Many thanks.

Christmas Kitsch, Amy Lane, Dreamspinner Press, 2013

Sometimes the best thing you can get for Christmas is knowing what you really want.

Rusty Baker is a blond, rich, entitled football player in a high school full of them—just the type of oblivious jock all the bullied kids hate. And he might have stayed that way, except he develops a friendship with out-and-proud Oliver Campbell from the wrong side of the tracks. Rusty thinks the friendship is just pity—Oliver is very bright, and Rusty is very not—but then Oliver kisses him goodbye when Rusty leaves for college, and Rusty is forced to rethink everything he knows about himself.

But even Rusty’s newfound awareness can’t help him survive a semester at Berkeley. He returns home for Thanksgiving break clinging to the one thing he knows to be true: Oliver Campbell is the best thing that’s ever happened to him.

Rusty’s parents disagree, and Rusty finds himself homeless for the holidays. Oliver may not have much money, but he’s got something Rusty has never known: true family. With their help and Oliver’s love, Rusty comes to realize that he may have failed college, but he’ll pass real life with flying rainbow colors.

REVIEW: Hi everyone! I really hope you’re slowing down and not going nuts trying to get everything done. OK – so that is what I am doing but hey IT IS the holiday and we all want things to be perfect for the ones that we love. Key being the “ONES WE LOVE”. It’s funny this time of year how you know the people that mean the most to you, blood tie or not, because you go out of your way to see them or talk to them when you are crazy busy and know that will make things more hectic but you LOVE them and well, presents aside, that is what it is all about.

So for my time to myself, I pick out my Christmas story that I am going to read this year after driving through HELL to get back from Connecticut to visit people that I love. This is important, so hang in there – I am back and I want to read a book and write a review and it is Christmas and that is important to me so I push other things back. First though, I have to check my Facebook because I’m getting a puppy and I need to see if they have pictures. Keep in mind that I haven’t touch the book yet. I decide that my puppy’s name is going to OLIVER – coincidence hmmm. So I am on Facebook and I have to read important posts (I don’t go in there often but I want to reconnect a little) and there is a post from SID – God love him. He is the kind of guy that you fall in love with the first time you meet him and just talk for hours. In CT I don’t see the news because when you visit older people they want your undivided time. So, as I am reading my pages, I realize A LOT has happened in four days and people are talking trash about gay marriage and relationships and love. Sid posts a connection to the best article EVER !! I can’t believe that people are so narrow minded and people shouldn’t judge but the article is about the young teenagers that are gay and how hard it is on them and that the suicide rate is so high because while we are arguing with each other they HURT and STRUGGLE and many don’t make it!! Reality is that we aren’t debating an issue – WE ARE TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE!!! And I hurt and get melancholy, but hey I have a Christmas book to read and so I’m good and it will be good so……

ARGHHH -Amy Lane you suck (I hate that word by the way) but you suck in a good way! I start ready the first chapter and I am not sure where this is going or if I will like it. By the second chapter, I am hook and turning the pages – not sleeping because I have to read more – AND THEN it starts. The tears are rolling down my face and they won’t stop. Why you ask, because the book is all about the article. The blurb doesn’t do it justice. Yes, the blurb is right; Oliver (my puppy hehehe) is small, smart, and lower middle class with a loving family. Rusty is a rich jock that has everything he wants except for a loving supporting family. But the book is so much more. It’s about a teenager who leaves for college not even knowing as Amy puts it “what his major is” and a roommate that is a real friend that is trying to help him decided. That part is so funny and you will have a silly grin on your face all the time. College is stressful and I see it – I work at a university - and I talk to the KIDS (you know that are just kids) and then add in the fact that he misses Oliver and could he be “Oliver- sexual”. He has to work on all these issue with a family that won’t understand and professors that hate spoiled rich kids – and then it all crashes in on him.

SOOOO - you have to read the book and I can’t tell you more because you just have to read it and I don’t want to spoil a page of it. But I cried and I hurt for Rusty and I cheered him on and encouraged him to get out of bed because hey “you know that’s a gateway drug, righ?!?!” – (total inside joke that is making me cry harder - sorry). The Christmas Kitsh will wake you up and make your remember to LOVE your family and those that are your family by choice. The story makes your realize that your actions and words can either safe a person or drive them over the edge. Everyone’s opinion has that power! So this holiday think before you speak and LOVE with all your heart. I love you all so much – thanks for saving me when you didn’t realize you did.

RATING: 5 Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries.  Amy Lane you are amazing and talented and right on the money.  Bye for now and a big hug to go with your very Merry Christmas! This book was provided by the publisher for an unbiased review.  Many Thanks!

Gingerbread Palace, E.M. Lynley, Dreamspinner Press, Delectable #4

A week before Christmas, Alex Bancroft’s bakery goes up in flames. When he runs back inside after a dog, firefighter Kevin Flint has to rescue Alex—and Quincy—from the smoldering building, endangering them and inflaming Kevin’s resentment.

Now Alex can’t create the elaborate gingerbread house he donates to a foster-kids charity each year. Fire Station 7 again comes to his rescue, offering their kitchen and their manpower.

Everyone but Kevin Flint, that is. A third-generation firefighter, he’s fearful of stepping too far out of the closet. So when his powerful physical attraction for Alex ends in a sizzling secret encounter in the firehouse, Kevin can’t push Alex far enough away, and Alex returns the cold shoulder.

After a change of heart, Kevin risks his life to prove he’s worthy of Alex’s affection, but without a Christmas miracle, their chances at sweet romance might go up in smoke.

Like all Delectable stories, Gingerbread Palace includes recipes used in the book.

REVIEW:
OMH this book made me a little crazy. Sometimes it's just not fair that I can't crawl into a book and smack someone upside the head!

Kevin comes from a long line of firefighters, so he has a legacy to live up to, which isn't always easy. Add in the fact that he is gay and so far in the closet he is in Narnia and you can almost understand his attitude. Notice I said almost....because if a fictional character ever needed a smack down Kevin is that character.

On the other hand, you have Alex who is sweeter than his cookies and is an all around nice guy. So of course he is as attracted to Kevin as Kevin doesn't want to be to him. The animosity between the two men is so great you just don't see how they can ever come together. Which made this book uncomfortable and completely un-put-downable for me. I had to keep reading.

This was a great holiday read and as an added bonus the author includes the gingerbread recipes at the back of the book! So a sweet treat all the way around!

RATING: 4 Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries This book was given to us by Dreamspinner. Many thanks.

Fangs, Fur and Misteltoe by Selena Blake

Vampiress Coco Jeffres has one week to get her mojo back. After a long sexual drought, Mystic Isle, the exclusive pleasure playground for paranormals, is just what the doctor ordered. For once she's choosing lust over love.

Tall, dark, and oh-so-handsome werewolf Grayson West is well versed in the arts of war and women. He's got one week to blow off some steam before he heads back into the field and he's more than willing to help a lady find her inner vixen.

Especially when she's the same beautiful blue eyed vamp he met one hundred years ago and has never been able to forget. They were once sworn enemies, pulled apart by war. Now they're lovers. But history has a way of rearing its ugly head and their new relationship will have to stand up to the test of loyalty, friendship and even time itself.

Warning: includes a sexy werewolf, a slightly exhibitionist vampire, hot beach sex, seductive sex against a palm tree, and a scorching hot 100 year old romance in the making.

Don't miss the second and third books in the series. Search for: A Werewolf to Call Her Own & Games Demons Play

REVIEW:

As much as a gal can crave traditional holiday stories, there's something to be said for the exotic and utterly sensual worlds of the paranormal!  Selena Blake certainly knows paranormal - with her Stormy Weather series dazzling readers (yummy hot hot Cajun weres) and now with her Mystic Isle series.  How can you not stay warm on a cold winter night with the fiery hot passion of a vamp and a werewolf and their karmic connection?

Coco comes to Mystic Isle with her vampire BFF's for a little R&R and, more specifically, to get her groove back.  She is hardly prepared to reconnect with the werewolf warrior she had a "moment" with a century before.  Greyson knows in an instant Coco must be his - and go for it he does!  To say this story is all heated snippets of passion is to miss the mark - this world building story prepares the reader to kick off a whole new series - and the characters, both primary and secondary are fascinating and multi-dimensional.  But lest you think otherwise, it is seriously sexy and super charged with erotic romance.

I look forward to more stories to come - especially the wounded and emotionally scared Izzy. Certainly Ms. Blake has created a series worth investing in and Mystic Isle appears to fill the bill for those looking to let their imaginations roam as supernaturals frolic in the moonlight!

I give this tasty little treat four chocolate dipped strawberries!  Many thanks.

EXCERPT :

“I remember everything,” she whispered, her fangs lengthening.

“This?” he whispered, a large hand splaying across her lower back. Hot. Strong. Possessive. Pulling her closer until their hips brushed.

“Yes.” The word came out as a hiss.

He took her hand and laid it over his heart. The organ beat out a steady rhythm against her palm. She soaked in the heat of his skin, the strength of his chest.

“And this?” he asked, his deep voice seducing her as easily as his touch.

“Yes.”

She remembered the sound of his heartbeat thundering in her ears. His pulse, visible in the strong artery in his neck. She’d wanted to taste his blood, sink her fangs into him as he entered her.

She still wanted that.

He cupped her cheek with his other hand and dipped his head. The light from a nearby lamppost lit his eyes. Just as they had all those years ago, his irises flared, and for the briefest of seconds she thought that maybe he could see to the depth of her soul. No one, not even Valencia and certainly not Dmitri, had ever studied her so intensely.

“And this?” he murmured again, their lips less than a centimeter apart.

She smelled whiskey on his breath, one more memory of this night. All she had to do was close the distance and find out if he kissed as well as he did in her dreams.

Just like that night on the battlefield, his thumb traced her jaw line. And just like that night, desire warred with the knowledge that they were not destined to be together.

But she hadn’t come to Mystic Isle for together-forever. She’d come for hot-shout-my-name-sex. She’d come here… to come.

So this time when he glanced back and forth, staring so deeply into her eyes, gauging her response, she let her lips do the talking.

Sappy Pine Trees & Sticky Fingers, Jackie Nacht, Extasy Books
Holiday Jobs That Don't Suck #10
Tis the season—pine needles, sap and frozen limbs, yet these two can still feel the heat between them.

Three years ago, Grant left for school, but he didn’t leave without regret. An attraction to his friend Wyatt that he’d never pursued has haunted him these past years. Finally, while home for the holiday break, he has a second chance when he runs into none other than Wyatt himself.
Wyatt has always regretted the moment lost between him and Grant. When Grant starts working at Wyatt’s family Christmas tree farm, Wyatt can sense that the feelings between them have never dwindled in all the time that they were apart. A second chance is brought before them, but what will happen when Grant has to return to school?

REVIEW:
I love, love, love these holiday nuggets of goodness from Jackie Nacht! They bring a smile to my face no matter the holiday they are associated with and I find myself wondering which holiday and what situation will she come up with next.

Wyatt and Grant are both hoping for a second chance at the one who got away and if a little sap gets in the way...the stickier the better!

These are quick sexy reads that will make you laugh and blush and are the perfect holiday non-caloric treat!

RATING: 5 Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries.

Fun & Games with Rudolph (Naughty North Pole, #4
Deanna Wadsworth

Lars is the sarcastic elf who runs Santa’s Mail Department and he follows the dating rule of “no repeats”. But lately he's been having a romantic textlationship with another elf, via the dating app Elf4Elf. When his cyber boyfriend goes AWOL after a misunderstanding, Lars realizes too late that there is more to life than sex, work, and cookies.

On Christmas Eve, Santa asks Lars to personally deliver a gift to Rudolph—a former reindeer handler who left the North Pole because of a misunderstanding. Rudolph lives on the secluded Sugar Plum Ridge and the only way to get there is by sleigh. Lars just can’t get a break!

When a sudden blizzard forces the two elves to hole up in Rudolph's cabin, will they find a way to make their own fun and games or will one surprise ruin it all?

One thing is certain: after this night, they both will believe in the magic of the Naughty North Pole!

REVIEW:

Okay ya’ll…I have to say, this book made me HUNGRY…and not just for food. If you’ve read any of the other 3 Naughty North Pole books, (and you should. If you haven’t, why the hell not??), then you know that all the elves have, um..flavored offerings! These two hotties are peanut butter and cinnamon… YUM…and you should also check out the term “fluffer nutter”….Wait, I’m still hungry!

I really did enjoy this book. Ms. Wadsworth has done a great job with this series and takes the North Pole in an entirely different direction. You get sucked in (no pun intended..well, maybe intended a bit) and you just don’t want to stop reading it. I loved this book the most of the 4, maybe because I’m fascinated with snow and cabins and I really wanted to crawl up in Rudy’s bed by the fire and stay there. Can I get a dark elf of my own over here??

RATING: 4 ooey gooey strawberries dipped in chocolate and…peanut butter for Ms. Wadsworth and “Fun and Games with Rudolph”. Job VERY well done! This book was given to us by the author for an unbiased review. Many thanks.

Sweet Inspiration (Klaus Brothers #1) by Penny Watson is a magicly sweet beginning to a Christmas Romance series about Santa and his sons.

What if the legend of Santa Claus is in fact, true? What if Santa has five big strapping sons who help him run his empire? Five single, sexy sons looking for romance...

Nicholas Klaus is a master pastry chef, a strict disciplinarian, and the eldest son of the legendary Santa Claus. One look at café owner Lucy Brewster sends him into an unexpected tailspin of lusty desires. When Lucy is injured, Nicholas makes a decision that catapults both of their lives into turmoil ....

Lucy Brewster, the free-spirited proprietor of Sweet Inspiration, has a flair for concocting sugary confections but no time for adventure. She gets more than she bargained for when she awakens in the North Pole...rambunctious elves, a fitness-obsessed Santa, and the man of her dreams. Does she have what it takes to become the next Mrs. Klaus?

REVIEW: Penny Watson has crafted a Christmas series that so embodies the magic of Christmas in a unique North Pole to refute all stereotypes. I crave these kinds of books during the holiday season so other readers who enjoy immersing themselves in the holiday, even with their romance books, will want to try this series.

This first book is focused on Santa's eldest son, Nicholas who is set to follow in his father's foot steps only that's not really what he's good at. Through a series of scenes, his true passion comes out. And when he meets Lucy and then tragedy strikes, everything falls into perspective.

Sweet Inspiration is sweet with a little touch of spice. The pacing is steady as the relationship progresses. The combination of fantasy (the North Pole) and fiction (the romance) works well. I found myself smiling throughout the book - it's a good Christmas read.

RATING: 4 Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries

Hunky Day No. 7.2 @PennyRomance

Sweet Magik (Klaus Brothers #2) by Penny Watson really is a magical Christmas story.

BLURB: Oskar Klaus' job is killing him. Not even his favorite hobbies (extreme snowboarding and browsing old bookstores) are enough to snap him out of his funk. It's not easy living in the shadow of four successful older brothers and a father named Santa. Little does he know that a kiss on New Year's Eve is about to turn his life upside-down.

Kiana Grant's Manhattan life is a world away from her childhood in Oahu. She traded sunsets and surfing for a respectable career in library science, but Oskar Klaus is a temptation that's hard to resist. Before she knows it, she's in the midst of an outrageous adventure in the North Pole, dealing with mischievous elves, wicked demons, and a devastating attraction to Santa's youngest son.

There's just one problem...a bitter elf hell-bent on revenge threatens the future of everyone in the North Pole, even Santa himself...

REVIEW: Last year, I read book one in Watson's Christmas series so I was looking forward to book two. She's truly created a magical story of Santa and his sons.

This time, the focus is on Santa's youngest son, Oskar, who heads of Elf Resources, has a secret passion for books and loves to snowboard. Something has been off though and his carefree lifestyle no longer works for him. He wants more and he finds it when he meets Kiana. Both of these characters have unique back stories that endear them to readers.

While their love story ignites during a kiss on New Years Eve, the story really takes off when they travel to the North Pole. The magic enthralls Kiana while her very existence enthralls Oskar. There's a bit of mystery and intrigue with some naughty elves but the focus is the love story between Oskar and Kiana. Trying to take care of problems with the elves, they find the sweetest magic of all in one another.

During the holiday season, I crave books that bring me deeper into the season, That's exactly what this book did. I couldn’t put the book down so I spent the evening curled up by the fire, reading... it's a tough life but someone has to do it... so what are you waiting for? Grab the first book in the series and get started. You'll fall for the magic of Christmas and Santa all over again.

*I've really enjoyed meeting the Klaus family an am disappointed not to see more books coming.*

Yuletide Greetings by Brynn Paulin

Zach Colvin never believed in Santa Claus, so filling in as Santa at the mall for one of his friends is not making his holiday bright. He’s supposed to be on vacation, not working. When his brother promises to send him a package full of holiday cheer, he never expected it to be a near-naked woman.

Kate Morgan has made a mistake. After many emails, she’s meeting a man for a near-anonymous hook up, but she's stunned to find a different man opening the front door—a man with a determined grin, mesmerizing eyes, and a naughty penchant for spanking.

This is a quick holiday treat. Kinda like grabbing a sugar cookie as you walk by the counter. Although this is a mild BDSM story it was very sweet and I will never look at candy canes the same again.

I give this book 3 chocolate dipped strawberries and some candy canes.
