Hanging the Stars by @Rhys_Ford @dreamspinners #REVIEW #ULTIMATEINDULGENCE

Hanging the Stars, Rhys Ford, Dreamspinner Press
Half Moon Bay #2
Angel Daniels grew up hard, one step ahead of the law and always looking over his shoulder. A grifter’s son, he’d learned every con and trick in the book but ached for a normal life. Once out on his own, Angel returns to Half Moon Bay where he once found…and then lost…love.

Now, Angel’s life is a frantic mess of schedules and chaos. Between running his bakery and raising his troubled eleven-year-old half-brother, Roman, Angel has a hectic but happy life. Then West Harris returns to Half Moon Bay and threatens to break Angel all over again by taking away the only home he and Rome ever had.

When they were young, Angel taught West how to love and laugh but when Angel moved on, West locked his heart up and threw away the key. Older and hardened, West returns to Half Moon and finds himself face-to-face with the man he’d lost. Now, West is torn between killing Angel or holding him tight.

But rekindling their passionate relationship is jeopardized as someone wants one or both of them dead, and as the terrifying danger mounts, neither man knows if the menace will bring them together or forever tear them apart.

We are back in Half Moon Bay and it's still a deadly place to be. This story does not start out slowly and build up, it throws you right into the line of fire and and doesn't stop still it spits you out at the end. For me this was definitely a, "can't stop once you start" book.

When we met West in Fish Stick Friday's I thought he was a bit of an ass. So, I wasn't too sure how I was going to connect to him, but I don't know why I ever doubt or hesitate with Ms Ford because it wasn't long before I was totally on his side. His loneliness was palpable and you can feel how much he needs not just Angel, but Roman as well.

Angel's life was rough, but he has pulled himself up and is making things work. He has created a home for Roman and himself with a ragtag group of "family" who he cares for, but doesn't really have anyone who takes care of him.

The history between West and Angel is solid but cracked and while trying to rebuild it they have to deal with shootings, car wrecks, kidnappings and trust. So it's not going to be easy, but the important things never are.

It was great getting to revisit with Deacon and Lang, and my all time favorite character, Zig, and see how happy they are. This book is filled with the signature secondary characters that I love in this authors writing. There is so much action and mystery and angst and love that you will be done before you are ready and left wanting more.

#Audiobook #Review: Striker @LillyAtlas #MCRomance

Striker (No Prisoners #1) is a solid introduction into Lilly Atlas's MC world. Unique and well-written, I've found a new gem among the booming MC Romance genre. The main characters are both mature and don't follow the usual trope - they fell for one another but also had their own lives. Lila being a doctor (loved her nickname "Stitch") and having a camaraderie with the club added to the story. I look forward to more books on the other members.

Listening to the book on audio brought the story to life. I recommend it on audiobook!

Dr. Lila Emerson is finally free of the shadow of her politically connected family, with her new job in a small town Emergency Room. But her new peace is shattered when she encounters the dangerous, but compelling Striker. He's everything she should stay away from, but all she craves. And since he keeps turning up in her ER, he's hard to avoid.

As Vice President of No Prisoners outlaw motorcycle club, Striker is no stranger to violence. But when it touches the pretty doctor he wants in his bed, he'll do anything to keep her safe. When Striker and Lila are thrust together, sparks fly and passions ignite. Before long they find themselves entangled in a relationship neither saw coming.

The MC can and will eliminate any threat against Lila, but what if they—and the man she's falling for—are the reason she’s in danger?

Scandalous #Spanking #REVIEW: The Southern Gentleman by Sweden Reese #FREE Book!

The Southern Gentleman: Protective Instinct (Dominant Heroes Collection #1)

Sex. Politics. Scandal.

Except in love. Yet, he’ll soon find himself irresistibly drawn to the candidate’s beautiful, na├»ve daughter.

Sheltered heiress Lola Randall has always played it safe. Now she’s gone rogue. After escaping the media spotlight and her overbearing parents, the last thing she needs in her life is an alpha male. But when Nolan shows her how good it can feel to relinquish control, she begins to secretly crave his domination. Now, she must choose between her independence and falling in love. Because Nolan is determined to win her heart and nail the bad guys before the opposition finds a way to steal the White House.

Erotic romantic suspense series for mature audiences.

PUBLISHER’S NOTE: This is Book 1 in a steamy, suspenseful 2-book story. Book 1 ends in a scandalous cliffhanger, Book 2 delivers the HEA.

The Southern Gentleman: Protective Instinct by Sweden Reese is one of the best domestic discipline books I've ever read. It's spankingly delicious!

Once I started reading, I couldn't stop. Nolan and Lola hooked me from their first introductions in the book, but then once they finally meet, the chemistry takes hold and I couldn't put it down. With the political landscape that is the setting for the book and those trying to hurt Lola, the tempo is quick paced and makes for an exciting story. And as the two main characters make their way across country, the slow build up and gradual development of a relationship is enticing. There's no rush here as they come to know one another - there's an obvious attraction heightened by the sexual tension that builds between them.

Nolan's belief in the man's role as head of household both bothers and intrigues Lola. Since she's not the meek daughter of a presidential candidate we might first think, she challenges Nolan. You know what they say about those who protest too much... anyway seeing Nolan provide a structure that allows Lola to reach her potential -to see them give into their desires fully- is what I'm most excited about for the next book.

Be ready for a provocative cliffhanger. But then exciting news! The author published both books simultaneously -such a smart move more authors should consider- so you'll be able to start reading right away. Which is just what I'm off to do now... book two, here I come!
